for some reason, I could not edit my last comment. This is the link to Squidoo Kindergarten.
When I coach clients learning Squidoo, we just go ahead within the magic builder, delete most of the modules, add 2 more text modules and publish. From there, you can continue editing, create your profile, and have fun with Squidoo.
Remember, anything you create at Squidoo can be changed or edited later. Just get that first lens up, published. (you may even decide to delete the whole thing later and that's okay, too!) The main thing is to get started!
As Valerie mentioned, there are tons of Squidoo lenses about how to Squidoo. You can also visit my Squidoo Kindergarten, which is a blog for beginners at Squidoo.

Here's a search link within Squidoo to help you start building your first Squidoo lens.
Prior to starting your lens, do a Google Search to find the best search keywords for your subject. Use this google search tool to determine a good name, hence url for your lens and the keyword tags to use.
When you create your first lens, be sure to save it as a draft, until you are ready to publish it.
